It does not matter how avid a marketer you are, individuals unsubscribing from your mailing list WILL happen. There is not much you can do to stop it entirely and in a way it maintain your list healthy.

Individuals unsubscribe from a mailing list for many reasons:

* Because you are trying to sell to them
* Some people will unsubscribe the minute you email them promoting a paid product.
* Freebie seekers. There is nothing wrong in this, we all do but some people will opt-in to get your freebie and then immediately unsubscribe.
* You are not giving them what they asked for

You will never please every single on your list and you should not even try to!

If you always sell sell sell and never offer anything of value to your subscribers then your unsubscribe rate will go up. Starting by cut down on offers and start giving people information for free that they can actually use. This will build a relationship with them and it’s a far more effective way of selling in the long term.

These are just some of the reasons and there are countless more. People unsubscribing is part of being online marketing. You can minimize your unsubscribe rate by offering good substance and generally treating your list with the respect that they require from you.

Anyplace a grouping of individuals who have a mutual interest get together, together has marketing potentiality and forums are no exception. Forums, or bulletin boards or discussion groups as they are occasionally referred to, afford you a ‘ready made’ market. Here are some ways to use forums for marketing and tap into the obvious potential sales that exists with them…

Find good, active forums in your related niche. You are searching for ones that are posted to regularly and contain active discussions and debate. There is no point in joining a forum which only gets few postings once every few weeks or none at all.

When you have found a good forum which addresses your subject field you then need to sign up as a user and start taking part in the discussions. Seek queries which you can response to, help others and share your expertness. Research the subject first online to build up your knowledge base.

When using forums for marketing is to NEVER come across as a sales person. Do not posting spam advertisements – as an alternative joint in and take part in the discussion. Encourage others to PM (private message) you and start building relationships with members.

Set up your profile so that people can find out more about you. This is also a good way to include a subtle link back to your websites.

Most forums allowed you to (and it is very important to always check the forum rules because they tend to vary quite widely) include a signature link at the bottom of your posts to one of your websites. Ideally this should link to something like your blog or a good freebie.
