Blogging - Wordpress or Blogger?
Whether you want to blog for fun or for profits, blogging is smart as a whip for getting visitors and building up relationships with your prospects. You know you NEED a blog, but what blogging platform should you choose - Blogger or Wordpress?
Let's start by looking at Blogger.
Blogger is a free service provided by Google that allows you to set up a blog in matter of minutes. Merely go to blogger.com and register for a free account and you are ready to go.
Blogger makes it easy because you don't have to worry about uploading your blog or buying web hosting - Blogger takes care of all these for you, and there are many professional themes for you to choose from too. All you need to do is post your contents to it.
The major problem with Blogger however is that your blog is never really yours. It's hosted on someone Google's server, and because of this it means you are effectively controlled by Blogger's activenesses. If they want to shut your blog down one day then they can - just like that, and in spite of however much money you might be earning from it.
This is where Wordpress comes in. You can set up Wordpress on your own hosting, where you have more control. If you have Cpanel on your web hosting (and the vast majority of hosting providers do) then setting up Wordpress is childs play.
With a Wordpress blog YOU own your blog. Nobody can come along and shut it down - it's all within your control.
There are other advantages of a Wordpress blog as well. There are virtually thousands of themes you can choose from and a whole horde of 'widgets' you can add on to increase the functionality of your blog.
So, will it be Blogger or Wordpress?
If you are looking to set up a blog that you want to use over the long-run then choose Wordpress. Blogger has its uses too - if you need to set something up within a few minutes, or want to learn about blogging before you try Wordpress then it can provide a good platform to get rolling.
