How To Make Money With Google Adsense

I'm going to start this article off with a disclaimer that may just make you decide not to read the rest of it. So be it. Here's the disclaimer. Take it for what it's worth to you. The chances of you making decent money with Google Adsense the way things are today are about as good as my chances of landing a date with Tyra Banks. Okay, now that we have that out of the way, for those of you who want to know how to make money with Google Adsense, keep reading. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

For those who don't know what Google Adsense is, first a brief explanation. Google Adsense is an advertising system where sponsors paid ads appear on your web site. If a person comes to your web site and clicks on one of these ads, you get a portion of whatever Google gets from the click of the ad. Sounds simple enough, doesn't it? Well, if only it really was that simple. The truth of the matter is, making money with Google Adsense is anything but simple. Don't worry, I'm about to explain why in just a second, so hang on to your spaghetti westerns.

The first problem with Google Adsense is that they have some very strict rules about how the ads can appear on your site. They can't appear near photos; you can only have three blocks of ads per page; you can't disguise them to look like something else; and on and on. The rule book is long enough to choke a grown horse to death. It's almost as if they don't want you to make any money. And actually, they do. But just not too much of it otherwise the advertisers start getting ticked off because their ad expense is so high. Remember, your income is their expense.

Another problem with Google Adsense is that because of the recent changes at Google with Adwords rates and content pages having different bid values, the income potential just isn't there anymore. For example, some keywords that used to pay as much as maybe a dollar a click back in the good old days, now, because of the different content site bids, may only pay 20 cents per click. This has caused a great reduction in the income that people make from Adsense. There are those who used to make thousands of dollars a month who now only make a couple of hundred, if that. Yes, things have gotten really bad.

Then of course there is the problem of getting your Adsense account banned. Because of all the fraud out there, one false move on your part, or even the hint of fraudulent clicks, and you're history. Once you are banned, that's it. You might as well go find something else to do because your chances of being reinstated are slim to none.

My point to all this is simple. There are many ways to make a decent income online. I know because I use them.

Google Adsense is just not one of them.
