One example is installation of smoke detectors in every room of the house especially in the kitchen. This is paramount in case of fire, of course. So, if the baby is in the room and the detector goes off, then the parent will be able to remove the child from the room. Bumpers used on sharp edges of tables are also a good investment for parents. The bumpers can be used to protect the baby from falling and injuring themselves on sharp edges of tables and other furniture, as babies are prone to falling.
This aspect of what to look for in the house before the baby starts walking is very important. It is widely known that baby's are very adventurous, as they tend to move to every part of the house. If unrestricted the baby might get to the places that are not meant for them. Put away and properly store all sharp objects especially knives and razors. Install security latches on cabinets, as this would not make them easily accessible to all objects in the cabinet

There should be 100 percent attention given to this area by the parents, as this should be highly attended to, and electrical outlets are the most accessible dangerous items for a walking toddler. As babies are very curious, they will almost always stick their fingers into electrical outlets. It's common knowledge that electrical sockets are dangerous and may lead to electrocution or even death, which can devastate a family. So, it is wise and a common precaution to cover electrical outlets.
